On March 24"' 2012, 9:00 AM the Lethbridge Correctional Centre is hosting its 1st annual Ball and Chain Challenge!

  • The Ball and Chain Challenge is intended to be an enjoyable and casual event, bringing
    the community, the Lethbridge Correctional Centre staff, law enforcement agencies and
    emergency services together in friendly competition. In honour of active healthy living, don't
    miss out on an opportunity to participate in this community event, support a local charity and
    meet the people who work day and night to keep our neighbourhoods safe! There will be prizes
    to be won, pride to obtained and fun to be had!!
  • This event features a 4km walk/run, an Bkm walk/run and a 4km Team Fitness Challenge [TFC)
  • All 3 chip timed events will begin and end at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre.
    These races will include stretches of pavement, hard packed dirt, grass and gravel roads making the races suitable for all skill levels, weight classes and age groups.
  • The TFC is a relay style event that combines the 4km run with 4 functional strength and
    fitness stations. Teams are to be made up of 4 members    , each of which will complete one
    station and one portion of the run. The TFC is designed to promote friendly competition among
    all law enforcement members, however teams from the general public are encouraged and
    welcome to participate!

  • The run/walk events will be limited to 230 entrants and the TFC will accept the registration of 20 teams
  • Entry fees are:
    4K and 8K Individual events $30 ($31.50 online) and include a tee shirt
    TFC are $120/team ($124.00 online) and include a tee shirt
  • Enter online here OR download a paper entry and drop it off at Runners Soul

  • Entry deadline is Sunday March 18th Midnight , prices after deadline are $25 ($26.50 online) NO SHIRT for individuals and $100 ($104.00 online) NO SHIRT for Teams so hurry up and register now!

  • Race Package pickup is Friday March 23, 10: am - 5:30pm at Runner's Soul 2646 South Parkside Dr. Lethbridge
  • Race day a Start/ Finish area 7:30am - 8:30am
 
Proceeds:
 
All proceeds raised will go to the Uphill Both Ways Education and Relief Fund, a
Lethbridge based not for profit organization. Uphill Both Way is a non-denominational, relief
and development organization dedicated to providing educational and health care
advancement to children and their communities in Nepal.
