Friday August 11th in Cardston, AB. for a 5K Run/Walk and a 1K Kids Dash
With a Goal of promoting physical activity among Cardston and our surrounding communities, this a great race to showcase the Town of Cardston's NEW 7th ave pathway and our beautiful town. Scheduled in Cardston's Heritage Day celebrations, this will just add another event to bring the town together and celebrate our heritage with our family together!

Both events start and finish at the Cardston Lions Park (community park/football field)

1K Kids Dash (12years and under on day of race) - Start time 10AM
This Race will start under the football booth and head south, out of the gates onto the nature trail. Turn around on the path and head back to the track. Kids will have an electric finish running around the track clockwise back to the start/finish line. Music will be playing names will be announced and be sure to cheer on your little ones! The top finisher in each age male and female will get a medal! Age categories are 5&Under, 6-9, 10-12.

5K Run/Walk (not limited to age) - Start time 10:30AM

Start around the track through the gates and head north east on the nature trail. Turn south on main street, staying on the sidewalk all the way up the 121 foot (37 Meter) elevation climb. At the top of the hill take a moment to look south west to see the incredible view of the rocky mountains and Old Chief mountain! Next you will run down 7th ave (highway 501) on the new running path. After making the descent you will head south on creekside road for a hairpin turn adjacent to the beautiful Lee Creek Valley Golf Course. Watch and cheer for family and friends as you head back towards the nature trail. Finish the last stretch on the incredibly scenic nature trail path in the river valley. Soon you will hear the music from the football booth to give another electric finish around the track!

After the run enjoy the provided chocolate milk, fruit and snacks! Stick around to cheer the rest of the finishers on and wait for the medal ceremonies (approx. 11:30am). The top three finishers for each age category will be awarded with a medal. Age categories will be every five years starting at 09&U, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.... Additional prizes will be the fastest male and female 5km runners, oldest participant and fastest stroller awards!

This is an official chip timed race with live online searchable results posted during the race and full printable results and downloadable Finisher Certificates following the race.

Will take place Thursday August 10^th 12pm-7pm at Lions park parking lot. We will be set up right behind the high school baseball field across from the outdoor pool.
